About
silicon semiconductor technology has dominated the field of electronics and information technology in the 1950's. With the advent of IoT technology there is a need for integrating more flexible sensors into the system. But, the silicon substrate cannot offer flexibility. so, a special attention was given to flexible electronics that offers more unique properties like high flexibility, ultrathin substrate, wearable, stretchable and so on. Many attempts were made to develop a wearable system for accurately predicting the finger motion. The basic classification of detection includes glove and non-glove type. In non-glove type, X-ray or electromyogram(EMG) or non-invasive infrared technique is applied for the finger motion detection. But the results are not accurate. In glove-type, sensors like accelerometer, force sensors, magnetic sensors or potentiometer are being used for measuring the posture of fingers. The potentiometric based detection has the major drawback of using longer wire for signal transmission. The magnetic sensors are being affected by the environmental magnetic field. In this proposal, an attempt is made to utilize the inductive sensor which changes its resonant frequency based on the bending angle of the finger. Also, the inductive sensor structure is printed on the ultrathin flexible substrate which supports light weight operation. since the flexible substrate allows better conformability with the finger makes the patients comfortable.
