About
Clean energy evolution is crucial for modern societies and economic countries worldwide. The depletion of traditional fossil fuels has led scientists to focus on green energy materials and techniques. Renewable resources like solar light, mechanical energy, and wind energy are being explored for electrical energy harvesting. Piezoelectric/triboelectric nanogenerators have gained attention for their energy efficiency and environmental benefits. The development of low-cost rechargeable energy storage systems is a major focus among modern researchers. This project aims to fabricate simple hybrid piezoelectric/triboelectric nanogenerators based rechargeable single unit self-charged energy storage systems that can be charged under mechanical forces of our living systems. Electroactive polymers (EAPs) have been recognized for their contributions in various fields, including actuators, non-volatile memories, batteries, piezoelectric sensors/nanogenerators, flexible energy harvesting and storage systems, and biomaterials. High piezoelectric and dielectric composite films will be developed using solution casting, in-situ process, and electrospinning methods. Ceramic materials, nanostructures, and organic materials will be used for the development of these high dielectric piezoelectric composite polymer films. Proper integration and design of piezo-triboelectric materials and electrolyte parts can enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness of these energy storage systems. Low-cost storage units can be designed for powering portable electronics and meeting the demands of electronic-dependent societies.
