About
Thermal metamorphism's effects are well-documented but not well understood. A comprehensive model including organo mineral interactions and experimental analysis of heated and unheated samples is needed to understand thermal and aqueous alterations on meteorite parent bodies and the origin of organics within samples. The dominant organic component (IOM) will be focused on due to its large amount of materials and its use as a petrological tool for classification, thermometry, and functional group characterization.
