Project Overview

The development of artificial intelligence and human-machine interaction electronics is focusing on the potential of electronic skin, which can detect pressure, tension, shear force, and torsion strain. This technology could have large medical applications, such as human-interactive wearable devices for health monitoring systems and phototherapy. Organic-inorganic hybrid light-emitting diodes based on perovskite materials are promising candidates for solid-state lighting. The novel multilayer technology of organic-inorganic hybrid semiconductors offers many novel applications, including flexible photonics and hybrid device integration. This proposal proposes high-performance flexible and stretchable light emitting devices for artificial electronic skins using inorganic nanomaterials and organic materials heterostructures on flexible substrates. The proposed ZnO:In/CsPbBr₃/PEDOT:Pss heterojunction LED on flexible substrate could emit light emissions of 400 to 500 nm, potentially treating acne, wound skin disorders, cancer, and neonatal jaundice in newborn infants. The main advantage of LED phototherapy over conventional methods is that it can be applied to selective areas of skin, only affecting diseased cells. The intensity of light can be controlled using a bendable amorphous IGZO-based organic TFT circuit. This device could increase self-health management and be a good candidate for wearable medical devices.
