About
Cancer remains a disease that kills hundreds of thousands of people annually, with Epstein Bar Virus (EBV) being a deadly example. The virus attacks almost 99% of the population but remains in a latent state, leading to a lytic state that causes death. The study aims to unravel the DNA-ZTA transcription factor interaction, which plays a crucial role in this transition. By modeling the ZTA transcription factor-DNA interaction using an all-atom molecular dynamics approach and integrated enhanced sampling technique, the researchers aim to gain mechabnistic insights on the interaction. This understanding will help control the latent to lytic transition and develop efficient cancer therapies.
