The upcoming sixth-generation (6G) wireless systems require enhanced latency and throughput performance, wider coverage, better reliability, and higher security. To this end, IRS-enabled wireless communication [1] has emerged as a potential solution to cater these requirements of wireless networks. However, while analyzing the theoretical framework of such systems, it is observed that the system’s performance mainly depends on the statistical characterization of the sum of random vectors (RVEs), whose amplitudes follow different wireless channel distributions. Therefore, it is of great significance to evaluate the distribution of the sum of RVEs under various wireless channel conditions, and then utilize them to perform the analytical investigation of intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) enabled wireless communication systems. The main aim of this project is to analytically evaluate the distribution of the sum of random vectors for various random processes, such as, double-Rayleigh, double-Nakagami-m, product of Fisher-Snedecor F variates, mixed Rayleigh and double- Rayleigh, product of α-μ variates, etc., and their exploitation for investigating the performance of IRS-assisted wireless communications systems.
