About

The research proposal will mainly focus on design of TRU with reduced complexity, high power density and cost-effective system for MEA. The proposed project will extend the state-of-the-art TRUs for DC power generation required by aircraft with the added feature of power quality improvement, reduced complex structure with improved control mechanism. A detailed investigation of various available TRUs will be carried out by analyzing all the merits and demerits of each configuration and thereby the improved converter structure will be proposed. Further, dedicated attempt will be made to reduce the rating of autotransformer unit with improved power quality performances and reduced weight. Furthermore, a simple DC current injection technique will be implemented to reduce rating of the TRU, improve power quality indices/power density.
