About

Ruthenium-based materials on hydrophilic carbon felt will be co-electrodeposited using chronoamperometry process for the electrocatalysts of cathode using in desalination seawater battery (DSWB). In this framework, the selectivity towards chlorine evolution reaction (CER) over oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during charging of DSWB using co-electrodeposited Ru based electrocatalyst with doping and interlayer will be observed to increase the activity and selectivity towards CER than standard reported Ru0.5Ti0.5O2 electrocatalysts. Ru based electrocatalysts will be characterized for the electrochemical surface area and enhanced the number of active sites for CER. These newly designed electrocatalysts will be used in DSWB as a cathode for the analysis of CER selectivity over OER and seawater desalination with electrical energy storage. Consequently, fast and maximum desalination will be achieved from seawater by using Cl- ions selective anion exchange membrane (AEM) and Na+ ions selective sodium super ionic conductor (NSICON) membrane. Electrocatalysts will be used to find out seawater desalination, charge accumulated capacity with energy consumption.
