Project Overview

The proposed research will develop a fundamentally new approach for designing new device architectures, as well as investigate the interfacial physics between donor polymer/non-fullerene acceptor blend and perovskite quantum dots (PQDs), which will be useful in the fabrication of smart futuristic energy harvesting devices. Our strategy will be to figure out how to charge carrier transit and extraction are affected by the thin film morphology and with the doping of A3B2X9 perovskite quantum dots based on Bi3+ or Sb3+. To obtain maximum photovoltaic performance, this work will alter the deposition conditions of the polymer active layer by fine-tuning the non-fullerene-acceptor (NFA) and the size as well as the bandgap of PQDs by modulating the synthesis parameters. This effort will not only help to enhance the efficiency of polymer solar cells but will also aid to developed novel PQDs for future energy-efficient devices.
