About
Quantum information technology (QIT) governed by the principles of quantum mechanics enables a range of new paradigms in the context of computing, communication, security, and intelligence. QIT ensures unbreakable security, faster data-processing, and accuracy and precision in data-processing/transmission which cannot be realized in conventional technologies. In context of information transmission, quantum communication can break the Shannon’s channel capacity limit and provides an unprecedented level of security which can never be possible in classical communication. Among the recent developments in quantum communications, quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) is of particular interest as it encodes the information bits directly with quantum states and transmits over quantum channel. This project aims towards the investigation of QSDC system in MIMO and cooperative systems. In fact, the project consists of two parts; in the first part of the project, the quantum communication will be implemented with the MIMO systems, particularly transmit and receive diversity, and in the second part of the project, the feasibility of the quantum communication in cooperative networks will be investigated. The error probability of the proposed systems will be analyzed over free-space optical quantum channels. Specifically, the closed-form mathematical expressions for the error probability of the proposed systems will be derived with the consideration of several practical scenarios such as channel turbulent and thermal noise. This project will investigate the feasibility of implementation of quantum communication in wireless communication scenarios so that the demand for high data traffic with high speed and security can be fulfilled for future networks. The outcome of the project may develop a roadmap for the future communication.
