Investigation of spin- isomers and high spin state in the Po isotopes (N=119-122), and evaluation/compilation of reduced transition probabilities of octupole isomers.

About

The aim of this project is to investigate the spin-isomers (E3 etc.) and dipole bands in 203-206Po nuclei at high spins along with the systematics of 11- isomer & its E3 decay in Po isotopes. The nuclei of interest will be populated via 196,198Pt(12,13C,xn) and 192Os(16,18O,xn) reactions at bombarding energies 60-95 MeV. Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) coupled with recoil mass separator/ancillary detectors having fast timing set up will be used for the detection of gamma-rays. The evaluation/compilation of octupole isomers to understand the quadrupole-octupole mixing in these isomers is also proposed. The reduced transition probabilities B(EL) and B(ML), angular distribution coefficients, ICC and mixing ratios will be re-evaluate using the nuclear data evaluation codes such as BRICC, RULER etc.
