About
Many naturally occurring C-aryl glycosides are known to possess antibiotic and anticancer characteristics. Few of C-aryl glycosides have also been identified as a versatile class of SGLT2 type inhibitors such as dapagliflozin. There is still search for a more active carbohydrate-based glycans as glycosidase inhibitors. Moving from a six membered to a seven membered ring analogues of C-aryl hexopyranosides i.e. C-aryl septanosides is expected to show enhanced pharmacological activity. These C-aryl septanosides are hitherto unknown in literature. About four new strategies have proposed here towards the synthesis of C-aryl septanosides. If successfully prepared, these C-aryl septanosides will be tested for its anticancer and antidiabetic activity.
