About
This project aims to understand the physical properties of Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) and its potential to revolutionize biocatalysis. DES is known for its fine tunability, biocompatibility, and ability to maintain enzyme active-form/function. The project will use ultrafast spectroscopy, biophysical chemistry, and solution chemistry to investigate the connection between macroscopic and microscopic properties of DES and enzyme activity and stability. The project also considers DES as a media where enzymes can remain stable and active under extreme conditions. The goal is to develop DES as a biocatalytic media for industrial purposes, requiring significant effort from various fields. If successful, this study could provide a foundation for a logical approach to DES and its potential applications in biocatalysis.
