Project Overview

This project would serve as a first step towards the development of electrode material for Supercaparttery applications based on porous Ternary metal oxides (Co2VO4) and activated carbon (AC). There is an ever-increasing energy demand all over the world due to the rapid depletion of fossil fuels and rapid growth of human population. Hence alternative energy sources like wind, solar, supercapacitor and fuel cells have been developed recently and are used effectively. The proposed porous metal oxides based advanced electrodes and superionic conductor-based electrolytes may deliver superior performance than supercapacitors and batteries for Supercapattery applications.Till now, no electrode material could achieve high energy density, power density and superior cyclic stability hydrogen storage capacity for Supercapattery applications. The development of low cost, high porosity, high surface area, high durability and high specific capacitance electrode materials and suitable electrolyte (Super ionic conductor) are still prerequisite to Supercapattery technology to be fully competitive. The ultimate scope is to develop High performance Supercapattery device with high energy density, power density and superior cyclic stability. Hence the present proposal is aimed at the Preparation and Characterization of Electrode Materials for High performance Supercapattery Applications.
