Project Overview

The research on electron and positron scattering of quantum targets is limited, with limited studies on heavy elements and engineered atoms using elastic collision. The project aims to understand elastic quantum scattering from atomic targets by examining the impact of relativistic effects, investigating correlation effects in low-energy scattering, using realistic confinement with actual electronic densities, and characterizing the average and angular-dependent time delay in resonant and non-resonant scattering. The project aims to contrast work showing the importance of relativistic and correlation effects in electron/positron scattering. The collision spectra from the project will play a crucial role in the abundance analysis of heavy elements in interstellar gas clouds. The project introduces the scattering of C60 or A@C60 using the realistic electronic density of the C60, providing superior accuracy compared to hard-walled model potentials like ASW. The proposed calculations bridge the gap between realistic experiments and model potential calculations, predicting resonant and non-resonant scattering parameters with superior accuracy. Furthermore, the project considers confined atoms as potential qubit systems for quantum computation implementation, allowing for direct correspondence between electron/positron probing the A@C60 system and data extraction from a quantum computer. This project aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of electron and positron scattering from atomic targets.
