About

The zirconium boride can be used as ultra high temperature wear and oxidation resistant component, thermocouple sleeves, nuclear components (boron capture), sputtering targets, evaporation boats, electride for Al-extraction (Hall- heraoult), hypersonic aero-engine components, rocket nozzles, dome for re-entry vehicle, etc.

Outcome / Output

The synthesis time is only 5 minutes, It is economical as it uses low cost raw materials and does not require high temperature furnaces, Easy to scale up.Produced powder has Purity: >95%, Particle sizes: 200 nm -2 pm, Owing to the high cooling rates, high defect concentrations and non equilibrium structures exist in the SHS produced materials, resulting in more reactive, metastable and thus more sinterable products.
