Development of diverse and elite inbred lines in sunflower through prebreeding and population approach. Identification of sterility maintainers and fertility restorers among the newly developed inbreds. Early generation testing for combining ability and utility in heterosis breeding. Conversion of promising good combiners cum sterility maintainers into CMS lines. Development and evaluation of hybrids in diverse environment to identify superior hybridswith targeted traits
