Project Overview

Survey and surveillance of major diseases of wheat including potent exotic and emerging diseases, identification of variability in major wheat pathogens and its use in evaluation of breeding material, and integrated management of important wheat diseases

Achievements

Two hunDr.ed lines were evaluated against loose smut, out of these, 61 lines were found free from infection and 77 were resistant; Five different fungicides at different does were evaluated against flag smut as seed Dr.essers and all the fungicides significantly reduced the flag smut over untreated control; The wheat blast disease management strategies were developed
