Project Overview

In Sonbhadra district, 4,176 families struggle to meet their needs with a monthly income below Rs 250. 97,212 poor households receive one meal per day, while 37,589 receive one meal per day throughout the year. The proposed project aims to improve the productivity of field crops, vegetables, and orchards, conserve natural resources, and enhance crop production through better integration of farm resources and various farming systems. The project also aims to uplift the lifestyle of SC/ST communities, reduce crime, and promote eco-friendly development through agrotechnology, women empowerment, and improved livestock productivity.

This project aims to improve crop, vegetable, and fruit yields, milk, and meat yields, and conservation agriculture practices to enhance income and livelihood security for farmers. It will focus on using local resources and cultivating aromatic and medicinal plants to boost income with minimal inputs. The project will also build a knowledge repository, document the impact of technologies, and develop mechanisms to improve livelihoods and uplift living standards. The expected benefits include empowerment of the ST population, efficient resource use, improved livestock productivity, increased employment opportunities, and improved farm household income.
