Project Overview

Objective: The project aims at the development of an indigenous technology for armour steel with enhance ballistic performance, which will be extremely useful for Indian Defence.

Summary: • The project will produce a technology for the armour plate, which will have better tensile, and toughness.• The material will have lightweight body armour plates, and have capability to absorb energy during projectile and avoid low energy failure mechanisms. • The technology will be tried in Pilot scale after the Lab scale development followed by field trials. The technology can be of strategic importance.
