Project Overview

Estimation of accurate spatio-temporal variability of precipitation in a region is a challenging problem and conventional methods being used may not yield desired results. In this context, a methodology for the estimation of precipitation using radar data is quite promising. The present study proposes to employ radar data in the estimation of QPE in the southern north eastern region, India. The preliminary objective is to refine the existing methods and propose reliable radar data based methodology in achieving the objectives. The proposed study would definitely enhance the state of art technique for precipitation estimation both in national/international context.
