About
The proposal envisages the design, implementation, and application of SiC based power converters in modern energy efficient applications. It argues that the currently used converter technology has many shortcomings, which will hinder the usages of SiC based devices in high frequency power converter design especially for high voltage high power applications. Thus, there is a need to synthesize new converter topologies, which will enable us to realize better power processors with higher switching frequency. This will lead to compact, efficient, and high power-density converter modules. The application of the new topologies in energy efficient applications like microgrid, high voltage motor drive, and realization of compact solid-state transformers will also be a part of this research activity.
