Understanding the cell death pathways induced by Mycobacteria infections

Implementing Organization

Principal Investigator
Dr Ashwani Kumar
Scientist, CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (CSIR-IMTECH), Chandigarh

Project Overview

Objective: To analyze the pattern of cell death (apoptotic, necrotic or autophagic) in response to Mtb infection (Mtb strains Ra and Rv; Mtb mutants ARD1, ARegX3, APhoP and M. bovis BCG). To analyze role of HO-1 in Mtb induced cell death .Specific Aim 3: To delineate the molecular mechanism of HO-1 mediated regulation of Mtb induced cell death.
