Project Overview
This project aims to classify Banach spaces using one-sided directional derivatives, closely related to state-space of vectors. It aims to classify classical, concrete Banach algebras, C∗ and von Neumann algebras, and spaces of operators between Banach spaces. The core concepts are interlinked to aspects of analysis, such as proximinality, norm upper-semi-continuity, and subdifferential sets in convex analysis. The project also focuses on finding subdifferential sets of the norm function in certain spaces and applying them to approximation problems.
