Java Citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus, Jowitt) is a perennial grass belonging to the family Poaceae. The plants are 2-2.5 m in height, perennial herbs with fibrous root system.

Citronella oil finds extensive use in soap, candles and incense, perfumery, cosmetic and fragrant industries throughout the world.
