Research team has made preparations for synthesis of reagents that are required in large quantities for bulk RT-PCR diagnosis. Recombinant enzymes (Reverse transcriptase and DNA polymerase and two other proteins) that are used in RT-PCR reaction has been developed. Also, enzymes are available for distribution to anybody who would like to make RT-PCR kits. 80% of the material which goes into making the kit has been developed in-house by the institute.
