Emasculation and immediate pollination in evening at full bud stage one day prior to anthesis resulted in highest percent fruitset (55%) and 100% recovery of hybrid seeds without any compromise in seed quality similar to conventional crossing. Retention of three flowers per truss is recommended while crossing for enhanced higher seed yield and quality (compared to non-nipping of flowers 63%).
