It involves growing leguminous crops such as Sunhemp for 45 days and incorporating into soil to improve soil fertility. Three weeks later Nitrogen through FYM @ 80 kg/ha was applied at the time of land preparation. Nursery was raised with enriched FYM with Trichoderma @ 1kg/1000 kg of FYM. Forty day old seedlings were planted with a spacing of 30x30 cm2 in a raised bed with drip irrigation. Crop was harvested 120 days after planting with a dry biomass yield of 1859 kg with a B:C ratio of 1.51 (mean of 2 years)
