Sachet technique for the small-scale acclimatization of micropropagated plants

Implementing Organization

Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR)
CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology, Assam

Project Overview

Sachet technique is a simple method for acclimatization of micro propagated plants giving 80-100% ex vitro establishment in different crop plants. The method makes use of simple polythene bags with the conventional planting medium. The in vitro rooted plants are plated after root pruning and the bag is incubated under low light conditions. This allows the single-step plating and acclimatization with the feasibility of keeping the plants in the same polybags till the filed plating
