Experimental and numerical investigation of the flame deflector for conditions ground testing of cluster nozzle stages

Implementing Organization

Project Overview

The project aims to accurately predict and control the temperature load effect on flame deflectors with cluster rocket engine nozzle plume configuration in the real-time ground test facility. The noble design of the flame deflector is proposed to reduce the temperature load using water spray cooling with acoustic impact during real test conditions of the cluster rocket engine nozzle. Based on the operating conditions, empirical relations of heat transfer with steady and transient parameters of the deflector will be made, which suits the real-time applications.
