Project Overview

NEERI has developed a Chemo-defluoridation process with unit for removal of excess fluoride from water. The salient features of the same are as follows: ? Useful at domestic as well as community level; ? Chemicals are provided in sachets; ? Water is palatable after treatment of fluoride; ? pH of treated water does not decrease; ? Can treat water upto 20 mg/L fluoride; ? Sludge itself acts as adsorption media for removal of fluoride; ? No need of sludge treatment for disposal; and ? Leaching of fluoride under normal atmospheric conditions is < 0.1 mg/L
