Project Overview

The project aims to develop a compact device to minimize infections, particularly Puerperal sepsis, during labor. The technology comprises a comprehensive system with a vacuum pump, pressure regulator, waste collection components, attachment cup, and hose pipe. Notably, a 3D model of a mannequin is created to design a fecal matter collection cup, which is then 3D printed using FDM. A silicone molding process ensures flexibility, and transparent piping maintains an airtight seal between the silicone cup and the collection unit. The control box, equipped with various components, establishes a closed-loop control system to monitor and maintain negative pressure in the collection cup.

Benefits

The envisioned impact of the device extends to the reduction of maternal mortality and healthcare costs, contributing positively to maternal health during labor.
