Nearly 15 Million endoscopes are performed in India every year. However, the lack of affordable equipment, owing to the domination of imported equipment in the market, hampers effective and scaled care delivery. There is a clear clinical need and market requirement for affordable endoscopy devices, which can be addressed only by an Indian company with indigenous technology development capabilities. The commercial impact of the technology and products is estimated at Rs. 1000 crore over 8 years after the project completion.
