Project Overview

The present invention discloses a nutraceutical composition comprising yeast fermented Garcinia gummi-gutta and Garcinia xanthochymus fruit pulp. The composition has increase in concentration of catechin, p-coumaric acid and chlorogenic acid achieved up to 1.5-3-fold during fermentation. In an embodiment, increased anti-obesity property of the Garcinia is achieved by fermenting the said fruit pulp using yeast consortia (AVES-9876) to enhance the polyphenol content of the composition thereby with organic acids resulting in an anti-obesity composition with enhanced efficacy, shelf-life and further devoid of side-effects if any due to the absence of additional chemical ingredients
