Project Overview

An eco-friendly biopesticides based on Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a viable alternatives to chemical insecticides and is widely used. The bacterial strain has been isolated and characterized at BARC. The formulation based on this isolate has been found to be active against 12 different agriculturally important insect pests. The formulation described here is found to be stable for over 2 years and is safe to non target species and beneficial insects as well as to humans and mammals.

Benefits

Wettable powder formulations can be sprayed on agriculture crops infested with lepidopteran and dipteran insect pests;



Can be applied using general knapsack sprayers
