Project Overview
The goal of RE-EMPOWERED is to develop a set of hardware and software solutions and special focus on exploiting synergies among energy vectors, foster an active energy community via sustainable business plans and investments. Indian demo-site Ghoramara Island (GHMR) in West Bengal will make a 100%-RES standalone system aiming at improved energy access for sustainable community development, while Keonjhar (KNJR) in Orissa will upgrade of the existing rural microgrid towards higher energy availability and affordability, and improved local air and water quality.
Achievements
Develop and demonstrate various energy vectors integration, by means of high energy efficient converters and its control.
Implement a livelihood program to complement its off-grid systems in Keonjhar, Odisha and Ghoramara Island, West Bangal, aiming to create support ecosystems to promote income-generating energy uses in agriculture and small businesses.
