Project Overview

A new cost-effective indigenous technology to manufacture carbon-carbon composites fasteners such as screws, nuts and bolts has been developed.Fasteners (screws, bolts, or nuts etc.) used in high performance applications (high temperature,vacuum, corrosive environment etc.) need to possess variety of properties such as high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion to make it suitable for use in hightemperature and vacuum applications, or in a corrosive environment.
