The technique involves beneficiation of low- and lean-grade ores along with hydrometallurgical extraction of tungsten, in which the concentration of the lean ore is achieved basically by gravity and magnetic separation techniques followed by, hydrometallurgical extraction of tungsten from wolframite concentrate to obtain ammonium para-tungstate. The tungsten produced finds its application in defence, space and other industrial application.
