About
Good quality coking coal is carbonized in Non Recovery Coke Ovens for making coke. In steel making coke is used as reducing agent and source of heat in blast furnace.
Outcome / Output
Non-recovery ovens are generally preferred due to less capital investment and flexibility in operation compared to by product ovens, Non-recovery ovens can be easily started up or closed down as they are made of firebricks, Stamp charging system increases productivity, enhances quality of coke produced, Allows use of inferior coal for coke making, Reduces pollution.
