About

The aim of this project is to develop the protocol for assessing the crop water status in an agriculture-dominated Critical Zone Observatory (CZO), named as the Heterogenous Ecosystem of an Agro-Rural Terrain (HEART), located in the Ganga basin in north India. This will involve the use of remote sensing datasets from satellite platforms as well from UAV to map the spatial and temporal water status during major crop seasons. Measurement of surface soil moisture is closely linked with concurrent land surface temperature (LST), particularly important for crop water resource management.

Outcome / Output

The project being undertaken by ISRO in collaboration with academia is directly or indirectly beneficial to the society.
