Investigation of Physical and Electrochemical Properties of Phosphonium Based Ionic Liquids for Energy Applications

Implementing Organization

Savitribai Phule Pune University

About

The project is aimed at investigating phosphonium based Ionic Liquids (ILs) for the properties required for their potential use in electrochemical devices. Further, it is expected that the combination of phosphonium cation with different anions such as amino acids, fatty acids, etc. can make the window of possible ILs wider. The operating voltage and working temperature can be varied along with combination of phosphonium cation with different anions in order to develop a class of Ionic Liquids as an affordable electrolyte in electrochemical devices

Outcome / Output

The project being undertaken by ISRO in collaboration with academia is directly or indirectly beneficial to the society.
