The developed forecast model has the ability to predict an outbreak of vector borne diseases like Malaria, Japanese encephalitis etc. in rural endemic areas. The software has been written using Java language, so it is platformfree, versatile and can be used on most of the computers. The software has automatic alerting system and ability to take necessary control measures. The information can be sent to the concerned authorities also through Internet or virtual private network with an ordinary dial-up connection.
