The chemical treatment of the jammed ball pen tips is done in the batch process to clear the jam and restore the tip functionality. The treatment process involves contacting the jammed ball pen tips with the treatment solution for a duration of 1-2 minutes by dipping. The chemical treatment is done at ambient conditions in an ultrasonic bath. The chemical treatment removes the corrosion products around the jammed ball and forms a conversion coating of less than 10 nm thickness on the top surface to protect it from further corrosion. The chemical treatment process improves the appearance of the tips and does not alter the writing performance of the ball pen tips. The process is scalable and economical
