Implementing Organization

North-East Institute of Science & Technology (NEIST)

About

CSIR-NEIST has developed a high flexible composite sheet from dyed trimmings in combination with natural fibres like jute and cotton using polymeric binder. Utilization of such waste materials not only help to reduce environmental pollution, but also help for making alternative product substitute to leather which can be used for making apparels and goods of day-to-day use. Composite sheet can be used for making apparels and goods like sandals, shoe, bags, wallet, cap and other items of leather. It can also be used as a pressure gasket in different machines and equipments
