Outcome / Output

Using the indigenously developed suction casting assembly of Cu-based bulk metallic glass with good strength and comparatively high plastic strain / ductility, This process produces materials exhibiting reasonable plastic strain without diminution of their strength at room temperature through minor addition, thereby overcoming the major drawback of BMG to a reasonable extent, Cu-based BMG of the present invention has excellent mechanical properties; such as high compressive strength (2200 Mpa), reasonable ductility (20 %), and hence can be considered potential materials for developing small machine components.
