About
The kiln operates by dual fuels, such as low grade coal or wood. It reduces 60% fuel consumption sintering period, 70% pollution labour over the traditional pottery kilns. Breakage of the potteries during sintering is almost nil. It is a down-draft tunnel kiln inbuilt with a short height chimney. Uniform temperature is easily obtained in few hours during its operation, for which breakage of potteries is negligible and quality of terracotta is superior. Complete combustion of fuels with low excess air is novelty of the furnace. It is a permanent structure. Loading and unloading of potteries are simple and carried out through a door. Therefore firing of potteries is not labour intensive unlike traditional pottery kiln
Outcome / Output
Low cost
, Ordinary construction with locally available material like red brick, clay, sand etc., Negligible breakage of potteries
, Less fuel consumption
