Front end acquisition hardware and signal conditioning technology solutions for Minimally Invasive Fusion Imaging Endoscopy for Laparoscopic surgeries and other spin-offs

Implementing Organization

About

This is to develop a minimally invasive Fusion imaging endoscopy solution that is relevant for clinical applications in laparoscopic procedures with a Rigid scope. In addition to providing white-light colour endoscopy images, solution also provides a fusion of white-light and NIR fluorescence imaging, hence the term Fusion Imaging. Further, the core components from this solution also enable development of added spin-off solutions. These spin-off solutions include Miniature Open surgery Fusion imaging solution suitable for close-proximity visualization during certain open surgeries.

Outcome / Output

Some of the benefits of the modality include: · Enables surgical procedures more accessible pan India by avoiding the dependency on Nuclear medicine. · Faster, more procedures with better results · No use of radioactive contrast dyes · Low cost and safety · Used directly by surgeons · Real-time imaging allows on-the-table decision making · Can be repeated multiple times without any adverse effect to patients Cancer patients have to travel to Metros for their treatments and surgeries. Among the various applications of system, use of Open or Endoscopic Fusion imaging system obviates the need for depending on nuclear medicine. More importantly, it enables oncology surgeries to be done Pan-India even in Tier-2/Tier-3 locations improving the accessibility of cancer treatment across the population.
