The project adopts an integrated approach, minimizing the time of enzyme hydrolysis through pretreatment with a minimal concentration of alkali followed by a physical method. The primary target is to reduce the number of unit operations, ultimately lowering downstream processing costs. The applied methodologies focus on achieving a high yield of keratin without compromising quality.
