In an effort to bring awareness among the public, schools and colleges, Earth Day is being celebrated on 22nd April across the country every year with the financial support of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
300 centres, including educational and Science Centers in the country celebrate Earth Day since 2008.
Earth Day, the largest civic-focused day of action in the world, is a global event, in which more than 1 billion people in 192 countries take part.
‘End Plastic Pollution’ is the theme for this year’s edition.
