The course is organized into three sections covering the basics of electro-mechanical coupling in piezo- and ferroelectric materials and their constitutive response in the first part. The second part focuses on magnetostrictive materials, their constitutive modelling and experimental characterization. The third part focuses on the basics of shape memory alloys and the modelling aspects of their constitutive response.
